FringeNYC Review - @lice in www.onderland - Quick, Alice. Hit the Escape Key!

A roller skating white rabbit, hiphop graffiti artists Tweedledee and Tweedledom and a flashing-mouth Cheshire cat in a chat room are just a few of the pop ups Alice meets when she falls into the internet in @lice in www.onderland, a dance, multimedia update of Lewis Carroll’s classic.
Directed by Maggie Burrows, Allegra Long and Celeste Ballard, the show creates cyberspace with the help of near seizure-inducing videos designed by Maya Stiles-Royall, a variety of mind-numbingly-loud and irritatingly repetitive music selections with unintelligible lyrics (except for the offensive ones) and Ballard’s puzzling choreography.
Alice (Tessa Williams) wanders in an extended surf of the net as video images ask “Who Are You?” She rarely interacts with the cavorting characters she meets and often is positioned outside of the action examining her dress and hair or imitating what she sees.
The caterpillar and other costumes, though creatively designed by Jillian Coratti and Mona Elsayed, aren’t enough to give this poor execution of an interesting concept a chance to reboot. Hit the escape key, and avoid this crash.
